The 15th edition of BOGOSHORTS - Bogotá Short Film Festival, Colombia's main short film festival, will take place in Bogota from 5th to 13th December.
About 3000 short films sent from all over the world responded to the BOGOSHORTS call. The current edition includes the screening of the 350 selected short films, regrouped into 47 programs and 34 sections, including two sections dedicated to national and international competition. The programming takes place in a dozen locations in Bogotá, including the recently renovated 'Cine Tonalà', a multimedia center with two cine halls, a bar and a restaurant.
The festival site details the program of the various sections. The emblem of BOGOSHORTS is the statuette of Saint Lucy, which the organizers choose in 2007 as 'patron of filmmakers, dreamers and visual impaired persons’. The current edition inaugurates a new initiative, the BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market (see its full catalogue here), aimed at strengthening and qualifying the different actors of the Colombian audiovisual sector. This year's promo, proposed above, invites to 'discover your own destiny'.
The BOGOSHORTS Movement, born in 2005 with the experience of the short film festival 'In Vitro Visual', doesn’t only focus on the December event, but implements a program throughout the year with the screening of about 500 short films for a hundreds of activities organized in different Colombian locations. To attract and retain the public, its artistic director Jaime E. Manrique has designed a series of events and exhibitions combining short films with graphic design, photography, illustration and gastronomic experience, generating a cross-audience of about 30,000 people a year.
Terre di confine filmfestival invited Jaime E. Manrique to its next edition. In a series of meetings, seminars and screenings to be held in Sardinia in Spring 2018 Manrique will bring terre di confine filmfestival his own managerial and artistic experience, presenting the public a selection of shorts from the last ten years of BOGOSHORTS activity.
